NOTICE OF TAX RATE AND BUDGET
The Town of Shady Shores begins working in March of each fiscal year to plan and develop a budget that will reflect the needs plans for the Town. The budget is developed through a series of committee meetings with the Town Budget Committee; staff and council members. A base budget is prepared in accordance with legal requirements, council plans, policies and actions. A draft budget is then prepared and several worksession are held in open session. This years's budget worksessions were held at the May, June, July and August Town Council meetings. A public hearing regarding the budget was held on August 19, 2021. A public hearing regarding the tax rate will be held on September 20, 2021 at 7 pm.

Each taxing unit is required to publish their No-New-Revenue Rate and their Voter-Approval Rate. Counties and cities must meet publishing requirements as prescribed by the Local Government Code.

REQUIRED PUBLIC HEARINGS
A public hearing is required to give residents and taxpayers the opportunity to express their views on tax increases and the proposed budget. A quorum of the governing body is required to be present at all hearings. Each public hearing is open to the public and follows the Texas Open Meetings Act requirements.
The Following Public Hearings are scheduled for the Town of Shady Shores
August 19, 2021 7:00 pm Public Hearing on the 2022 FY Budget
September 20, 2021 7:00 pm Public Hearing on the 2021 Tax Rate.
The September 20, 2021, Public Hearing will be held at the Shady Shores Community Center at 101 S. Shady Shores Road. Individuals who wish to speak may do so in the following ways, Attend the public hearing in person, or email wendy.withers@shady-shores.com submit comments.
ANNUAL BUDGET
The Town Council will consider and adopt the 2021/2022 FY Budget and the 2021 Tax rate at a Special Called Town Council meeting held on September 20, 2021. At this time Town Council is planning to hold the meeting in person; interested parties may view the meeting through our town's website http://shady-shores.com/990/Agendas-and-Minutes .
