What can I legally burn and when can I burn it?
Normally, citizens are allowed to burn small piles of leaves or small limbs as long as the fire is out by sunset and the resident obtains a burn permit by contacting the Lake Cities Fire Department at 940-321-2141.

How do I obtain an outdoor burn permit?
To obtain a Burn Permit, fill out the online form and follow the criteria for the city in which you live. All of the areas that we serve are addressed on the Lake Cities Fire Department web page under resources dealing with outdoor burning.

Why does a fire truck show up when I call for EMS?
In the case of life-threatening emergency, we will dispatch a fire truck along with an EMS unit to provide extra assistance since all of our personnel are trained to provide at least Basic Life Support.
